On June 28, 2025, the donghua adaptation Lord of Mysteries Season 1: The Clown premiered worldwide, releasing simultaneously in over 190 countries and regions with Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, and Spanish language tracks. It topped overseas opening ratings among contemporary Chinese donghua, earned an IMDb score of 9.3, and became the first Chinese donghua on that platform to surpass 10,000 ratings. The series also ranked first overall on Crunchyroll’s 2025 Summer Global chart and became the fifth Chinese donghua to enter the top 100 on MyAnimeList charts. The global conclusion of Season 1 marked a major step in consolidating the Lord of Mysteries IP’s international influence.
